Tip for what?
I pay you $4.99 for the singular purpose of bringing me food. This app was perfection prior to the dawn of the new tipping "option." An option which feels quite pushy. "Not required," just firmly suggestive. "How much do you want to tip" (our drivers so we can continue not paying them enough)? UberEATS is a food delivery service. Period. It does not make and sell food for which it provides a free delivery service. In that case, tipping would be justifiable. I order food from a restaurant, you charge a fee to bring it to me. What am I tipping you for?
"Oh, you should have seen the sheer finesse with which the driver handed me the plastic bag containing my food. It was truly exquisite. Poetry. A thing of beauty. It brought my lunch experience up to a whole new level. But I had no cash. If only I had a way to pay MORE. It was so much more than a food delivery. It was an Uber brand-experience."
Thanks, Uber. Your heavy-handed tipping feature has suddenly made this app, as well as your ride app, awkward experiences which I now use with disdain.
